WE MUST HAND OVER A BETTER NIGERIA TO THE NEXT GENERATION- OKOROCHA
Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has charged his compatriots to ensure that Nigeria under their watch is made better, so that the upcoming generation of Nigerians will be proud to continue from where they would have stopped check over here.
Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha who is also the chairman of the Progressives’ Governors’ Forum also reemphasized the need for upcoming leaders to be properly groomed, so that they may be adequately prepared for the Herculean task of nation building and public governance which they will have to take up from them, soonest.
According to the governor; “The leaders cannot afford to hand over to the next generation what we have at the moment as a nation, in which ethnicity, religious bigotry and zoning of political offices are still the orders of the day.”
He called for attitudinal reorientation among all Nigerians, especially, the leadership class, to ensure that a prosperous nation is bequeathed to the younger generation. In his own words; “Nigerians must endeavour to hand over to the next generation a united and prosperous nation, all the ethnic and religious groups can be proud of.”
